How do brand & quality tier change the parts cost?

Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. Value brands such as Consul, Philco, Mueller, Colormaq and Esmaltec have the cheapest, most available parts; Brastemp and Electrolux form the mainstream core, alongside Midea and Panasonic. Premium (LG, Samsung, Bosch, Tramontina) and luxury (Smeg, Bertazzoni, Viking, Gaggenau) lines carry pricier, often imported components. Pick a tier in the calculator for a class-typical estimate, or a specific Brazilian brand to override it.

Is it worth repairing a over-the-range microwave?

If the repair quote exceeds roughly half the price of a comparable new over-the-range microwave — or the unit is well past its typical service life — replacement is often the better value. Localize the repair range above first, then compare.

Prices are state-level estimates based on labour-cost data, not fake city precision. See the methodology for the localization method and named sources.
