Base: published rates from 4 South African repair companies (2026-07) · South Africa national base range (Stats SA Labour Market Dynamics in South Africa (LMDSA) 2023) · Reviewed July 2026 · Estimated
These are South African base ranges from South African (rand) sources, localized with median-earnings differences between provinces (Stats SA, Labour Market Dynamics in South Africa — LMDSA 2023; no occupation-by-province wage table exists for appliance technicians, so provincial median earnings are used as the best official proxy). How we price this in South Africa
South Africa national base ranges come from named South African sources (cost guides and repair-service pages), in South African rand and never converted from another currency. We localize them with Stats SA's median-earnings relatives between provinces (Labour Market Dynamics in South Africa — LMDSA 2023). South Africa has no occupation-specific wage table (appliance technician) broken out by province, so we use provincial median monthly earnings as the best available official proxy for regional labour-cost differences; the national minimum wage does not vary by province. There is also no South African equivalent of the U.S. Regional Price Parities, so the price and overhead terms stay at the national baseline. VAT is 15% nationwide, but small firms below the R1 million registration threshold charge none — treat 15% as a ceiling. Prices are in rand and never converted from another currency. The localization method and named, dated sources are on the methodology page.
