About CostAndPrice
CostAndPrice is a strictly informational consumer price guide: transparent, source-cited cost ranges with a published formula — starting with home services, appliance repair first. No service, no hours, no booking — just honest numbers. Reviewed July 2026.
Who runs this
CostAndPrice is built and operated by a working appliance-repair professional: a Red Seal–endorsed appliance service technician holding an Ontario TSSA licence, with day-to-day experience of what these repairs involve and what they actually cost. The site itself sells nothing — no booking, no dispatch, no phone line. The only commercial links on the site are the clearly disclosed partner links on three Canadian metro pages, and each one says so where it appears.
Editorial standards
Every price on this site is an Estimated range. We publish the localization method, every input series with its named source and vintage, and the full source registry on the methodology page, alongside a downloadable per-metro index CSV. We never use a "Verified" label, never present fake city-level precision, and never currency-convert prices across borders.
Who reviews the numbers
Every English-language appliance page is reviewed by the site's operator, Ivan — a Red Seal–certified appliance service technician (Interprovincial cert #10-03535), licensed by Ontario's Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) and holding Technical Safety BC gas certification (lic #CGA010093408) and the ODS/halocarbon refrigerant certification (lic #BC23080) for sealed-system and gas-appliance work. We publish the name and the verifiable credential numbers, not a byline you have to take on trust: the numbers stand on named public sources, a published formula, and a certified technician's review. These credentials cover appliance repair only, which is why appliance repair is the first service we publish.
Scope of expertise
The owner's appliance credentials cover the appliance-repair vertical only. Any future vertical added to CostAndPrice will carry its own named expertise and sources before making expert claims — we do not extend one licence across unrelated categories.
