How do brand and quality tier change the repair cost?

Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. Value brands such as Beko, Fagor, Candy and Hisense have the cheapest, most widely stocked parts; premium and luxury lines (AEG, Siemens, Miele) carry pricier components, often sold through the manufacturer's official channel (OEM parts, "piezas de origen"). Balay, a BSH-group brand manufactured in Zaragoza, is the mass-market benchmark in Spain. Pick a tier for a class-typical estimate, or a specific Spanish brand to override it.

How much is a service-call fee for dishwasher repair?

Most Spanish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €30–€60, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Spain's standard 21% VAT (IVA) applies to appliance-repair services, and consumer prices are shown VAT-inclusive. Since 2025 a small-business VAT franchise scheme (transposing EU Directive 2020/285) means some very low-turnover sole traders (autónomos) may charge no VAT — so treat 21% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.

Is it worth repairing a dishwasher, or should you replace it?

A common rule of thumb: if the repair cost exceeds roughly half the price of a comparable new unit — or the appliance is past ~8 years for a dishwasher — replacement is often the better value. The calculator's localized totals give you the number to weigh against a new-unit quote.

Prices are autonomous community (comunidad autónoma)-level estimates based on autonomous-community wage data (INE Annual Wage Structure Survey 2022), not fake city precision. Shopping in the U.S.?
