How do brand & quality tier change the parts cost?
Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. Value brands such as Beko, Fagor and Candy have the cheapest, most widely stocked parts; premium and luxury lines (AEG, De Dietrich, Miele) use pricier components that are often restricted to the manufacturer's own network (pièces d'origine). Pick a tier in the calculator for a class-typical estimate, or a specific French brand to override it.
| Brand | Parts factor | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Basic tier parts ×0.88 | ||
| Beko | ×0.85 | Parts ×0.85 (published rates from 3 local repair companies) |
| Fagor | ×0.88 | Parts ×0.88 (A budget brand (Basque origin, now part of the Groupe Brandt family); French comparatives put Fagor parts at around 10 times cheaper than Miele, making it one of the cheapest parts supplies on the market. Parts distributed by 1001pieces and SOS-Accessoire. Below the mass-market baseline.) |
| Candy | ×0.88 | Parts ×0.88 (published rates from 1 local repair company) |
| Vedette | ×0.9 | Parts ×0.9 (published rates from 2 local repair companies) |
| Mid-range tier parts ×1.025 | ||
| Brandt | ×1 | Baseline — no parts adjustment |
| Whirlpool | ×1 | Baseline — no parts adjustment |
| Indesit | ×0.95 | Parts ×0.95 (A value-volume brand from the Whirlpool group; parts shared with the Whirlpool/Hotpoint platform and widely distributed at low prices by the French aftermarket, positioned just below the mass-market baseline.) |
| Bosch | ×1.05 | Parts ×1.05 (A BSH volume brand, very present in France but IMPORTED and positioned slightly above the domestic Brandt baseline: Bosch guarantees parts availability for 10 years, but many non-standard parts must be ordered through the official network (longer lead time, higher cost), which places parts just above the mass-market baseline. Contrast with Germany, where Bosch IS the 1.0 benchmark.) |
| Samsung | ×1.05 | Parts ×1.05 (Proprietary Korean OEM parts with limited French aftermarket competition; complex components (motors, boards) go through the genuine channel, which pushes parts slightly above the mass-market baseline.) |
| LG | ×1.05 | Parts ×1.05 (Proprietary Korean OEM parts with limited French aftermarket competition; direct-drive motors and inverter boards go through the genuine channel, priced slightly above the budget/volume brands.) |
| Premium tier parts ×1.175 | ||
| AEG | ×1.15 | Parts ×1.15 (A premium brand from the Electrolux group; genuine parts through the Electrolux/AEG platform sit above the mass-market baseline, with thinner compatible-parts competition than on volume brands.) |
| Electrolux | ×1.15 | Parts ×1.15 (A premium European brand; parts sourced via the Electrolux platform with limited aftermarket competition, above the value brands from the same group (Faure) and above the mass-market baseline.) |
| Siemens | ×1.15 | Parts ×1.15 (A sister BSH brand on the Bosch platform (parts are often identical) but positioned above Bosch in distribution; the same constraints around costly non-standard parts via the official network, above the mass-market baseline.) |
| Smeg | ×1.2 | Parts ×1.2 (Tier median — a premium/design Italian brand with lower volume and a genuine-dominant channel in France; compatible-parts competition is limited, which keeps parts above the mass-market baseline, in line with other premium OEMs.) |
| Liebherr | ×1.2 | Parts ×1.2 (A premium German refrigeration specialist (refrigerators/freezers); positioned as durable and high-end, with genuine-channel original parts costing more than compatible ones. Premium, above the baseline.) |
| De Dietrich | ×1.25 | Parts ×1.25 (A premium French high-end built-in brand from Groupe Brandt (upscale kitchens); proprietary built-in components and lower volume place parts at the top of the premium tier. After Groupe Brandt's liquidation and the Cafom takeover, De Dietrich parts (guaranteed for 6 months vs. 3 months for Brandt/Sauter/Vedette) go through SOS-Accessoire; a narrower channel than the volume brands.) |
| Luxury tier parts ×1.525 | ||
| Miele | ×1.45 | Parts ×1.45 (published rates from 3 local repair companies) |
| Gaggenau | ×1.6 | Parts ×1.6 (A BSH ultra-luxury built-in brand; a tiny installed base and premium components channeled through the factory place parts at the top of the range. Parts sourced via the genuine channel, a high-end niche.) |

Is it worth repairing a dishwasher?
If the repair quote exceeds roughly half the price of a comparable new dishwasher — or the unit is well past its typical service life — replacement is often the better value. Localize the repair range above first, then compare.
Prices are region-level estimates based on labour-cost data, not fake city precision. See the methodology for the localization method and named sources.
