How do brand and quality tier change the repair cost?
Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. Value brands such as Beko, Indesit and Inventum have the cheapest, most widely stocked parts; premium and luxury lines (AEG, ATAG, Miele) carry pricier, often OEM-restricted components. How much is a service-call fee for dryer repair?
Most Dutch companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €45–€90, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (btw, 21%) may or may not be included: many sole traders (zzp'ers) and small repair firms fall under the €20,000 KOR small-business threshold and charge no VAT, so treat 21% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
Is it worth repairing a dryer, or should you replace it?
A common rule of thumb: if the repair cost exceeds roughly half the price of a comparable new unit — or the appliance is past ~8 years for a dryer — replacement is often the better value. The calculator's localized totals give you the number to weigh against a new-unit quote.
Prices are province-level estimates based on regional employee-income data (CBS StatLine 2024), not fake city precision. Shopping in the U.S.? See the U.S. version (USD). In Canada?
