Appliance Repair Call-Out Charge & Diagnostic Fee in the UK (2026)
Most UK repair companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of £45–£150, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. Every figure is an Estimated or observed published fee — never a fake precise number. Reviewed July 2026.
What is the typical fee?
The national range is £45–£150. The fee usually covers travel and diagnosis; many companies credit it against the repair if you proceed — always ask before booking. VAT (20%) may or may not be included: many small and sole-trader repairers fall under the £90,000 registration threshold and add no VAT, so treat 20% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
