Appliance Warranty Costs (U.S., 2026)

Most major U.S. appliances carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty (parts + labor) for defects — some brands add multi-year coverage on specific parts like a compressor or sealed system, usually parts only after year one. A separate, paid home warranty service contract is a different thing entirely. Below: every brand's terms with its own source, the generic cost of a home warranty, and what actually voids coverage. Informational only — no rankings, no recommendations. Reviewed July 2026.

Manufacturer warranty terms, by brand Estimated

Standard = the base defect warranty; component = any longer coverage on specific parts. Each row cites that brand's own official warranty documentation (retrieved 2026-07-16). Terms vary by model and change over time — confirm on the manufacturer's current warranty document.
