Most Irish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €70–€120, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT on repair labour is Ireland's reduced 13.5% rate (a parts-heavy job can flip to 23% under the two-thirds rule), and many sole-trader repairers fall under the €42,500 services threshold and add none — treat 13.5% as the normal effect and 23% as the parts-heavy ceiling.
Is it worth repairing a heat pump, or should you replace it?
