How we price this in the UK

UK national base ranges come from named UK HVAC/boiler cost-guide and trade sources — never FX-converted from the US or Canada. We localize them with ONS ASHE 2025 regional wage relatives. ONS's occupation-by-region tables do not give a reliable, full-coverage regional breakdown for SOC 5315 (Plumbers and heating and ventilating installers and repairers), so — exactly as CostAndPrice's appliance-repair vertical already does for its own occupation — we apply the same occupation-neutral ONS ASHE 2025 all-employee regional wage relative (resident, full-time) to the HVAC national wage anchor. Regional labour-cost gaps are driven mostly by broad local wage levels rather than trade-specific premiums, so this is a reasonable stand-in for a missing trade-specific figure. VAT is standard-rated at 20% UK-wide, but many small tradespeople and sole traders fall under the £90,000 registration threshold and add none — so treat 20% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on. The localization method and named, dated sources are on the methodology page.
