How we price this in New Zealand
New Zealand national base ranges come from named New Zealand HVAC, heat-pump, gasfitting and spares sources (GST-inclusive) — never FX-converted from the US, Canada, UK, Ireland or Australia. We localize them with Stats NZ 2023 Census regional median personal income (there is no New Zealand equivalent of the U.S. Regional Price Parity, so the price and overhead terms stay at the national baseline, and no HVAC-trade-specific regional wage table exists, so the all-occupation regional index stands in as the labour-cost proxy). Heat pumps dominate New Zealand home heating and cooling, so those ranges are the best-evidenced here; US-style ducted gas or oil warm-air furnaces are effectively absent from New Zealand housing and those combos carry the nearest genuine New Zealand equipment, flagged in each entry. Gasfitting is restricted work under the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Act 2006 (PGDB-authorised gasfitter only) and mains electrical work requires EWRB registration; refrigerant handling is not gated by any New Zealand technician licence — there is no ARCtick-style scheme, which is Australian, and no EPA Section 608 certification, which is American. GST is 15% nationally and already baked into advertised prices; many sole traders below the NZ$60,000 threshold add none. The localization method and named, dated sources are on the methodology page.
