MJT Controls lists Alpha parts at £22.35 (auto air vent), £23.57 (pressure relief valve), £13.09 (fitting), £134.60 (pump) and £113.29-£214.15 (fan assemblies), all excl VAT; normalised to the baseline's incl-VAT basis (+20%) those are £26.82, £28.28, £15.71, £161.52 and £135.95-£256.98. Two evidence gaps sit behind this figure, which is the least well-evidenced in this guide: (1) after VAT normalisation the basket is mid-value-band rather than below it — the PRV at £28.28 incl VAT is above Potterton's £15.11 and level with Vokera's £27.60 safety valve, while the air vent at £26.82 is well under Potterton's £52.80 — so once the units match, Alpha's cheapest items do not undercut the Baxi-group equivalents; (2) no Alpha control board is listed with a price on any published page, so there is no like-for-like PCB comparison at all. 0.9 is therefore inferred from Alpha's entry-price market position and from the observed incl-VAT boards of the value-tier peers it shares channels with (Vokera £153.60-£208.80, Main £186.00-£237.60, Potterton domestic £130.80-£248.40, all set at 0.9).
