LG HVAC Repair Cost (UK, 2026)
Estimates reviewed July 2026 · appliance-repair figures maintained by a licensed appliance technician.
LG HVAC repairs typically run £40–£3,860, depending on the HVAC system, the problem, and your local labour costs. LG is a mainstream brand — its parts run pricier than mainstream brands, so the parts side of a repair sits above the class average. Every figure is an Estimated range in pounds, never a fake precise number. Reviewed July 2026.

What changes an LG repair bill
- Brand tier — Korean split-AC and Therma V heat-pump range running the same OEM-only parts channel as Samsung, with no third-party equivalents for control boards, sensors or fan motors. The only UK-listed LG price published is a remote control at £92.45, which falls inside Samsung's observed remote band (£73.19-£95.00); LG is therefore set level with Samsung by explicit inference from one like-for-like item plus the shared AC parts channel, not from an independently observed LG basket. No LG board or compressor price is published. Where the comparison figures come from matters: the £92.45 LG remote is a FixPart UK listing (UK-localised marketplace), but the Samsung remote band used as the peer cross-check is from JS Energi, a Swedish retailer (JS Energi AB, not a UK-domestic stockist) whose GBP prices exclude the 'additional local fees, taxes and duties' its own homepage says apply to UK deliveries and carry no stated VAT basis — so that cross-check band, and any LG level inferred from it, is likely understated for a UK buyer and not strictly comparable to the incl-UK-VAT £240.00 baseline
- Parts vs labour — the brand and tier shift the parts price; labour tracks your area's wage index, not the brand.
- The specific fault — a sensor, seal, or valve is far cheaper than a compressor, motor, or control board.
- DIY vs professional — Some LG faults (filters, seals, hoses) are DIY-feasible for confident owners; sealed-system and control-board work is a professional job.
LG error & fault codes
When an LG HVAC system shows a fault code, the diagnosis — and the price — gets specific. The most looked-up LG codes:

Common LG problems
LG split and ducted systems present as error codes traced to thermistors, the indoor or outdoor PCB, the outdoor fan motor or the inverter/compressor drive. Indoor heads show the class-typical drain blockage and blower-wheel fouling causing water leaks and odour. Its Therma V air-to-water heat pumps present hydronic-side faults around flow rate, sensors and defrost cycling.
Is LG expensive to repair?
LG is a major Korean manufacturer of inverter split systems, multi-splits, ducted units and air-to-water heat pumps (Therma V) sold worldwide. It is regarded as a mainstream brand with a conventional inverter fault profile. It does not make gas furnaces or boilers. Genuine boards, sensors and inverter parts come through LG's regional service network and refrigeration wholesalers. Generic substitution is limited on electronics but exists for universal items such as capacitors. Availability is good in markets with a large installed base and thinner for discontinued models.
