Most Austrian companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €60–€132, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (20%) may or may not be included: many small heating and HVAC firms and sole traders fall under Austria's small-business scheme (Kleinunternehmerregelung, § 6 (1) 27 UStG 1994 — since 1 January 2025, up to €55,000 gross annual turnover) and charge no VAT — so treat 20% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
