HVAC Repair Service Call & Diagnostic Fee in Belgium (2026)
Most Belgian repair companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €120–€180, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. Every figure is an Estimated or observed published fee — never a fake precise number. Reviewed July 2026.
What is the typical fee?
The national range is €120–€180. The fee usually covers travel and diagnosis; many companies credit it against the repair if you proceed — always ask before booking. VAT (btw / TVA) is already inside a Belgian consumer price: FOD Economie requires the displayed price to be the total price the consumer pays, VAT included. On a dwelling at least 10 years old, maintenance and repair are invoiced at the reduced 6% rate — labour and the parts the installer supplies — provided the dwelling is used mainly as a private dwelling after the works and the invoice goes to its occupant; on a younger dwelling it is 21%. Maintenance and repair of a gas or mazout (oil) boiler keep that 6% even after the 29 July 2025 increase, which moves only the installation or replacement of a fossil-fuel boiler to 21%. Parts you buy over the counter yourself always carry 21%. A Belgian installation firm cannot use the small-business VAT exemption — construction work on a building (werk in onroerende staat) is excluded from it by name — so a Belgian invoice always carries VAT: treat 21% as the ceiling and 6% as the usual rate on a repair in an older home.
