How much is a service-call fee for central air conditioning repair?
Most German companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €60–€150, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (19%) may or may not be included: many small heating and HVAC firms and sole traders fall under Germany's small-business scheme (Kleinunternehmerregelung, § 19 UStG — since 1 January 2025, up to €25,000 previous-year and €100,000 current-year turnover) and charge no VAT — so treat 19% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
