What is the typical fee?
The national range is €60–€150. The fee usually covers travel and diagnosis; many companies credit it against the repair if you proceed — always ask before booking. VAT (19%) may or may not be included: many small heating and HVAC firms and sole traders fall under Germany's small-business scheme (Kleinunternehmerregelung, § 19 UStG — since 1 January 2025, up to €25,000 previous-year and €100,000 current-year turnover) and charge no VAT — so treat 19% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
