How do brand and quality tier change the repair cost?
Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. The factors below are parts prices relative to the Danish mainstream baseline — not a quality or reliability ranking. We only say higher or lower about brands we actually found Danish shop prices for. Panasonic is the reference line (1.0) and Bosch sits right on it (1.05). Vaillant, Baxi and Nilan sit lower (0.80), because a gas-boiler board and a ventilation control board are cheaper components than a heat-pump board — that is a statement about the part, not about the brand. LG sits higher (1.40), and highest are the Japanese air-to-air brands Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Daikin and Fujitsu (1.50). For Buderus, Milton, Vølund, Metro Therm, Genvex, Danfoss, Viessmann, Weishaupt and NIBE we found no public Danish parts price, so they sit at the 1.0 reference level. That means we found no price evidence — not that their parts cost the same as Panasonic's. We describe those by role rather than by price level: Buderus, Milton, Viessmann and Weishaupt are gas-boiler nameplates carried by Danish plumbing retailers; Vølund and Metro Therm are Danish makers of boilers and air-to-water heat pumps; Genvex makes heat-recovery home ventilation; NIBE is an established heat-pump brand; and Danfoss covers controls and thermostats. The nozzle and the filter cartridge are changed as a matter of routine at every main service, and that makes it the best-selling oil-boiler repair in Denmark altogether. The parts are cheap: Danfoss nozzles cost DKK 144.00-264.00 at ELVVS and DKK 119.89-161.06 excl. moms at TopVVS, and a filter cartridge DKK 185.00. The bill is in reality the inspection price of DKK 1,732.50-2,395. After a nozzle change the combustion has to be set with a flue-gas analyser and the OR-fyrtest (the Danish oil-burner test), and that is why it is professional work even though the part itself is small.

On older installations the oil hoses are stiff and cracked, and then they are changed too - TopVVS asks DKK 201.77 for a hose, and with the nozzle and filter cartridge the parts come to DKK 530-1,000. Danish technicians recommend a hose change every five to eight years, because a hose drawing air causes exactly the lockouts the homeowner rings about. Call-out and any travel come on top. Must always be concluded with the OR-fyrtest (the Danish oil-burner test), which only a trained oil-heating technician can carry out.

How much is a service-call fee for oil furnace repair?
Most Danish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of 850–1.600 kr., often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (moms, 25%) may or may not be shown separately: it is Denmark's single flat rate — there is no reduced rate for heating, cooling or ventilation work — but very small traders below the DKK 50,000 annual VAT-registration threshold charge no VAT, so treat 25% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
Is it worth repairing a oil furnace, or should you replace it?
