If the corrosion is confined to one point and has not pitted the whole coil, the installer can repair the leak instead of changing the whole coil: the gas is recovered, the leak repaired, the circuit pressure-tested with nitrogen, a vacuum pulled and the charge put back by weight. In Spain this work is billed at €218 to €424 including VAT, half the cost of a replacement or less. It is a solution with a shelf life if the coil is corroded generally, and the technician should say so. Work on the refrigerant circuit: an F-gas handling certificate and a registered company.

How much is a service-call fee for air handler repair?
Most Spanish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €36–€97, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Spain's standard 21% VAT (IVA) applies to heating and cooling repair services, and consumer prices are shown VAT-inclusive.
