The cheap route that exists in Spain and is worth asking about before accepting a new board: several electronics workshops repair the board for €50 to €60, and consumer guides record it as a common alternative to replacement. To that you have to add the one or two hours to take the board out of the unit and refit it, at €71.39/hour including VAT. It is no use for boards burnt out by lightning or by water ingress, and it means being without the unit while the repair lasts. The electrical panel is worked on: a registered company.

The board is the expensive fault that does not touch the gas: the unit does not respond to the remote, the outdoor unit will not start, or it switches itself off. The spread depends on whether the board is repaired — a common option in Spain, offered by several electronics workshops — or replaced with an original. Above €400 many technicians already advise pricing a new machine if it is more than ten years old. Work on the appliance's electrical panel, reserved to the service company.

How much is a service-call fee for ductless mini-split repair?
Most Spanish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €36–€97, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Spain's standard 21% VAT (IVA) applies to heating and cooling repair services, and consumer prices are shown VAT-inclusive. A repair carried out in a dwelling can fall to the 10% reduced rate (Spanish VAT Act art. 91.Uno.2.10º) when three conditions hold at once: the customer is a private individual, the dwelling was completed more than two years ago, and the materials supplied by the firm are under 40% of the tax base. Labour-heavy jobs with little material often meet all three, so 21% is the standard rate but not always the effective rate on the invoice — treat it as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
Is it worth repairing a ductless mini-split, or should you replace it?
