The indoor unit's motor may be healthy and still move no air for two much cheaper reasons: the capacitor that starts it, €10 to €50 at Spanish parts shops, or a fan wheel so loaded with dust that it slows the rotation. Checking both is half an hour's work and €97 to €218 including VAT, against the hundreds of euros a motor costs. It means getting into the machine's electrical panel, so the technician does it.

The indoor fan motor gives warning with a rattle or a squeal that gets worse and eventually seizes; the unit then switches on but no air comes out. The indoor unit has to be taken off the wall to reach it, which is why the hours weigh as much as the part, which at Spanish parts shops runs from €109 to €440 depending on the brand. On some models the manufacturer recommends changing the inverter board as well if the motor has burnt out. It means working on the unit's fixed wiring and electronics: the service company does it.

How much is a service-call fee for ductless mini-split repair?
Most Spanish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €36–€97, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Spain's standard 21% VAT (IVA) applies to heating and cooling repair services, and consumer prices are shown VAT-inclusive. A repair carried out in a dwelling can fall to the 10% reduced rate (Spanish VAT Act art. 91.Uno.2.10º) when three conditions hold at once: the customer is a private individual, the dwelling was completed more than two years ago, and the materials supplied by the firm are under 40% of the tax base. Labour-heavy jobs with little material often meet all three, so 21% is the standard rate but not always the effective rate on the invoice — treat it as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
Is it worth repairing a ductless mini-split, or should you replace it?
