Value brands — Cointra, Ferroli, Fagor and Daitsu — carry the cheapest, most widely stocked parts; Baxi (Roca), Junkers Bosch, Saunier Duval and Ariston form the mainstream core of the Spanish boiler market, alongside LG, Samsung, Fujitsu (General) and Haier on the air-conditioning side; premium makers — Vaillant and Viessmann in boilers and air-to-water heat pumps, and Daikin, Panasonic, Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric in air conditioning and heat pumps — use higher-grade components, often sold through the manufacturer's official channel (piezas de origen). The whole network does not always need cleaning. If the dust and the smell come from the return filter and the coil, the cheap answer is to clean the filters and disinfect the evaporator: in Spanish guides, filter cleaning for a home is around €60 and runs from €70 to €200 depending on the unit, and the disinfection is billed at €20 to €50 when added to the service. It is what is worth trying before booking a full mechanical clean. It requires opening the machine in the false ceiling and using a dedicated product: a maintenance company.

Duct cleaning is mostly booked when smells, allergies or dust coming out of the grilles appear. The price depends almost entirely on the metres of ductwork, which is why homes have to be separated from the rest: the residential figures published in Spain are €200 for a 100 m² flat and €300 for a 150 m² detached house, with a €150 minimum on small jobs. The €500, €600 or €3,500 figures that appear in the same tables correspond to shops, offices and whole buildings, not to homes, so they fall outside this range. Disinfecting the evaporator is billed separately, at around €150. It requires rotary brushing equipment and extraction with an absolute filter, so it is a specialist company's service.

How much is a service-call fee for ductwork & vents repair?
Most Spanish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €36–€97, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Spain's standard 21% VAT (IVA) applies to heating and cooling repair services, and consumer prices are shown VAT-inclusive. A repair carried out in a dwelling can fall to the 10% reduced rate (Spanish VAT Act art. 91.Uno.2.10º) when three conditions hold at once: the customer is a private individual, the dwelling was completed more than two years ago, and the materials supplied by the firm are under 40% of the tax base. Labour-heavy jobs with little material often meet all three, so 21% is the standard rate but not always the effective rate on the invoice — treat it as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
