When the noise is a high-pitched whistle coming straight out of the grille, the culprit is usually a grille that is too small or has its louvres nearly closed, forcing the air through too fast. Changing it for one of larger section settles it without touching the network: €15 to €30 for a standard grille and €80 to €150 for a linear designer one, plus half an hour to an hour and a half of work at €71.39/hour including VAT. If the size changes, the ceiling opening has to be reworked and the system rebalanced, so the installer does it.

Duct noise has three classic sources in Spanish homes: excessive air speed through an undersized network, a badly run flexible section vibrating against the slab, or grilles with the louvres too far closed that whistle. The visit starts by measuring airflows and ends by bracing or lagging the offending section; only if the network is badly sized do major works come into it. The work is inside the false ceiling, so the installer does it.

How much is a service-call fee for ductwork & vents repair?
Most Spanish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €36–€97, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Spain's standard 21% VAT (IVA) applies to heating and cooling repair services, and consumer prices are shown VAT-inclusive. A repair carried out in a dwelling can fall to the 10% reduced rate (Spanish VAT Act art. 91.Uno.2.10º) when three conditions hold at once: the customer is a private individual, the dwelling was completed more than two years ago, and the materials supplied by the firm are under 40% of the tax base. Labour-heavy jobs with little material often meet all three, so 21% is the standard rate but not always the effective rate on the invoice — treat it as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.
