The reference level here is Mitsubishi Electric, whose control boards average €805.18. Pricier boards were observed for CTC, LG and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, cheaper ones for Panasonic, Viessmann, Fujitsu, Thermia, Bosch and Toshiba. In Finland a bubbling, rushing or clicking noise from the boiler or the pipework is almost always down to air left in the system rather than to boiler scale: the tap water here is generally soft, so limescale deposits rarely form on the heat-transfer surfaces, and hard water occurs mainly in south-western Finland and on Åland. Bleeding the radiators with a bleed key is something the occupant can do themselves and costs nothing if the key is in the cupboard; a key costs a few euros and a small bleed-screw set under EUR 25. Done by a professional the visit is charged by the hour and usually stays at the level of the minimum charge. The job carries no refrigerant, gas or electrical competence requirements.

If the noise returns after bleeding and some rooms are cold, the issue is an unbalanced system with air staying in circulation. A basic balancing of the radiator system is then ordered: flow measurement, setting the pre-set values on the valves, adjusting the heating curve and bleeding the system with a vacuum degasser. The published price level is about EUR 100–150 per radiator, so the job in an ordinary detached house with 4–8 radiators comes to EUR 400–1,200; the design work costs about EUR 100 per dwelling. The top of the range means a house where the valves are old and some of them are renewed at the same time. The work requires measuring equipment and is carried out by a plumbing and heating contractor.

How much is a service-call fee for boiler repair?
Most Finnish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €30–€155, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (ALV, 25.5%) may or may not be included: many small heating and ventilation firms and sole traders fall under Finland's small-business VAT exemption threshold (turnover up to €20,000 a year, the limit in force since 1 January 2025) and charge no VAT — so treat 25.5% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on. No reduced rate covers heating-equipment repair. Finland's household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) does not reduce the invoice; it is claimed later in your own tax return.
Is it worth repairing a boiler, or should you replace it?
