Common LG problems
LG split and ducted systems present as error codes traced to thermistors, the indoor or outdoor PCB, the outdoor fan motor or the inverter/compressor drive. Indoor heads show the class-typical drain blockage and blower-wheel fouling causing water leaks and odour. Is LG expensive to repair?
LG is a major Korean manufacturer of inverter split systems, multi-splits, ducted units and air-to-water heat pumps (Therma V) sold worldwide. It is regarded as a mainstream brand with a conventional inverter fault profile. It does not make gas furnaces or boilers. Genuine boards, sensors and inverter parts come through LG's regional service network and refrigeration wholesalers. Generic substitution is limited on electronics but exists for universal items such as capacitors. Availability is good in markets with a large installed base and thinner for discontinued models.
