Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. Parts prices vary by brand, and they say nothing about how good a unit is. The reference level here is Mitsubishi Electric, whose control boards average €805.18. Pricier boards were observed for CTC, LG and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, cheaper ones for Panasonic, Viessmann, Fujitsu, Thermia, Bosch and Toshiba. When an oil boiler runs but the house does not warm up, the most common reason is a sooted boiler: the soot acts as insulation, so the heat escapes with the flue gases. Sweeping a detached house's oil-heating boiler including cleaning the heating surfaces costs EUR 59, and EUR 99 in a block of flats; the starting fee is EUR 35 and the minimum charge EUR 64. The boiler is to be cleaned once a year and the flue swept once a year, so this is Finland's most common oil-heating service visit. The top of the range is reached when several flues or fireplaces are swept during the same visit. Chimney sweeping is licensed professional work and is not done yourself.

If the heating output has fallen gradually, it is worth ordering a complete package in which the burner is serviced, the boiler's heating surfaces are cleaned and the flue is swept during the same visit. The published prices are EUR 185 and EUR 299, and the top arises when the boiler is old and heavily sooted or the property has more than one flue. The package is more popular in Finland than separate visits, because the travel costs and the starting fee are paid only once. The household tax credit applies to the labour share. Servicing oil equipment belongs to a company approved by Tukes and the sweeping to a chimney sweep.

How much is a service-call fee for oil furnace repair?
Most Finnish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €30–€155, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (ALV, 25.5%) may or may not be included: many small heating and ventilation firms and sole traders fall under Finland's small-business VAT exemption threshold (turnover up to €20,000 a year, the limit in force since 1 January 2025) and charge no VAT — so treat 25.5% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on. No reduced rate covers heating-equipment repair. Finland's household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) does not reduce the invoice; it is claimed later in your own tax return.
