Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. Parts prices vary by brand, and they say nothing about how good a unit is. The reference level here is Mitsubishi Electric, whose control boards average €805.18. Pricier boards were observed for CTC, LG and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, cheaper ones for Panasonic, Viessmann, Fujitsu, Thermia, Bosch and Toshiba. A connection problem is most often because the thermostat only supports a 2.4 GHz network while the home access point offers a 5 GHz network under the same name, or because the plant room is too far from the access point. Pairing through the app and switching networks is something the occupant can do themselves and costs nothing; a repeater costs a few tens of euros. As a professional visit the work is charged by the hour and stays at the level of the minimum charge. This work does not touch fixed electrical installations, so there are no competence requirements — taking the device off the wall, on the other hand, is electrical work.

If the radio section has failed or the manufacturer has ended cloud-service support, the device is replaced. Retail prices are EUR 54.90–134.99, with the installation work on top. In Finland this has become more common as spot-price electricity control requires a working connection and old models do not support current interfaces. The top of the range means re-pairing the central unit and several room thermostats. Swapping the device in the back box is fixed electrical installation work and requires a contractor holding electrical competence.

How much is a service-call fee for thermostat & controls repair?
Most Finnish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €30–€155, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. VAT (ALV, 25.5%) may or may not be included: many small heating and ventilation firms and sole traders fall under Finland's small-business VAT exemption threshold (turnover up to €20,000 a year, the limit in force since 1 January 2025) and charge no VAT — so treat 25.5% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on. No reduced rate covers heating-equipment repair. Finland's household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) does not reduce the invoice; it is claimed later in your own tax return.
