A huge source of call-outs when the fine weather returns, on the indoor unit of a reversible air conditioner as much as on a ducted unit — mechanical ventilation, dealt with in the next line, is cleaned differently: condensation moisture stagnates on the coil and in the tray, mould settles in and the stale smell comes out as soon as the unit starts. The materials are limited to an aerosol cleaner, €26 including VAT in the typical quote published by a repair network. The price then follows the depth of the cleaning. A one-off service visit outside a contract runs at around €85 including VAT; a full single-split service is billed at €150 to €200 including VAT, the typical quote itemising two hours at €60 excluding VAT an hour, €50 including VAT of call-out charge and €26 including VAT of cleaning product for €196 billed — the tradesperson concerned coming under the VAT exemption for small businesses in article 293 B of the general tax code, which explains why his tax-exclusive total and his tax-inclusive total are identical. How much is a service-call fee for air handler repair?
Most French companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of €80–€170, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above.
