HVAC Repair — Ireland

HVAC Warranty Costs (Ireland, 2026)

In the Republic of Ireland there is no single manufacturer-warranty norm — the term depends heavily on the fuel. Gas boilers commonly carry 7- to 10-year guarantees, while oil boilers — the mainstay of the off-mains-gas housing stock — often get only 1 to 2 years on the appliance itself. Whatever the length, cover is conditional: registering the appliance within about a month and servicing it every year are the homeowner's job, and the qualifying installer credential differs by technology — RGII for gas, OFTEC for oil, and F-Gas certification for heat pumps and air conditioning. A manufacturer guarantee is also separate from the homeowner's statutory rights against the seller under the Consumer Rights Act 2022. Below: every brand's terms with its own source, and what actually voids cover. Informational only — no rankings, no recommendations. Reviewed July 2026.

Manufacturer warranty terms, by brand Estimated

Standard = the base defect warranty; component = any longer coverage on specific parts. Each row cites that brand's own official warranty documentation (retrieved 2026-07-19). Terms vary by model and change over time — confirm on the manufacturer's current warranty document.

GrantIrish-headquartered (Birr, Co. Offaly) oil-boiler manufacturer. The Grant Vortex oil boiler product page markets a "5 Year guarantee" but the footnote defines it precisely: "One year manufacturer's warranty with five year guarantee on boiler heat exchanger (T&Cs Apply)." Read plainly, that is ONE year of whole-appliance cover with the longer five-year term attaching only to the heat exchanger — not five years on the boiler.Aerona³ air source heat pumps — Grant's published FAQ is internally self-contradictory on the length, so NO combined or extended figure is asserted here. It states both "Grant Aerona³ air source heat pumps are guaranteed for 5 years from the date of installation" and, separately, "The guarantee period will be a total of three years (excluding consumable items) if the product is registered within 30 days from installation, subject to being serviced annually" — a 5-year headline against a registration clause worded as "a total of three years", NOT "a further three years", so any reading of an 8-year term is unsupported and is not made here. What is unambiguous: registration within 30 days and annual servicing are conditions, and "Grant heat pumps should be serviced annually. Failure to do so will invalidate the product guarantee." Afinia aluminium radiators: "Grant offers a 15 year guarantee with our Afinia range." These Aerona³ units run R32 refrigerant, so the installer/servicer credential that protects both compliance and warranty is F-Gas certification (see facts), not RGII or OFTEC.Grant Ireland
FirebirdIrish-manufactured oil boilers. Firebird's own Terms & Conditions of Warranty state: "a comprehensive, conditional warranty of 5 years on the boiler shell and 2 years on all other parts from date of installation, provided installation has occurred within 12 months from date of purchase." The oil BURNER is warranted separately and much more briefly: "a comprehensive, conditional 1 year warranty on the burner from date of installation", and "The 1 year burner warranty consists of parts only."The labour split inside the shell warranty is the part homeowners miss: "The 5 year boiler shell warranty consists of parts and labour for the first 3 years and parts only for years 4 and 5" — so in years 4-5 the technician's time is the homeowner's cost even on a valid claim. Conditions: the boiler "will only apply if the boiler is commissioned by an OFTEC registered or competent, qualified engineer and is serviced annually thereafter", and the commissioning certificate inside the Boiler Passport must be "returned to Firebird within 28 days of complete installation and commissioning" — a 28-day clock, not the 30 days the gas brands use. Excluded: "Consumable components, the nozzles and the oil hose". Incorrectly sizing the expansion vessel on a pressurised system "may damage the boiler and invalidate the warranty". Other Firebird lines follow the same 5-years-shell / 2-years-parts pattern: biomass boilers 5 years on the boiler shell and 2 years on all other parts; stoves 5 years on the stove shell and 2 years on other parts; solar 5 years on collectors and 2 years on all other parts.Firebird Ireland
Worcester BoschGas boilers, standard guarantee as published on the Irish site: Condens 8000 range 8 years; Condens 4000, Greenstar CDi Compact, Greenstar i System Compact, Greenstar Ri and Ri Compact all 7 years. OIL boilers are the outlier — Greenstar oil boilers carry only a 2-year standard guarantee, materially shorter than any of the gas ranges above.Extended cover works as a single conditional ladder per range — standard term, a middle tier for fitting a Greenstar System Filter, and a top 'extended' tier that requires the filter AND a qualifying installer; it is NOT reachable by accredited installation alone. Gas ranges: Condens 8000 range 8 years standard, 10 with a Greenstar System Filter, 12 extended; Condens 4000, Greenstar CDi Compact / i System Compact and Greenstar Ri / Ri Compact all 7 years standard, 8 with the filter, 10 extended. Greenstar OIL: 2 years standard, 5 with the filter, 7 extended — the filter is worth three extra years on an oil boiler versus one on most gas boilers. The published condition for the top tier is worded identically across every boiler range: "The extended guarantee length can be achieved when installing the boiler with any Greenstar System Filter by a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer or Worcester Bosch Accredited Partner. If your installer is a member of our loyalty programme but is a non-Worcester Accredited installer, they can achieve the extended guarantee length with an additional £40 payment via their loyalty account." So the extended tier = the Greenstar System Filter fitted by an accredited installer/partner (or by a loyalty-programme non-accredited installer paying the £40); accredited installation on its own, without the filter, does not reach it. Bosch-branded air conditioning on the same Irish site is the exception where an installer credential alone lifts the term, because there is no boiler-style filter on an AC unit: Climate 3200i 5 years (no uplift published); Climate 7000i 5 years standard, 7 years when installed by a Worcester Bosch accredited installer/partner. Refrigerant-circuit work on the AC units is F-Gas-gated (see facts).Worcester Bosch Ireland
VaillantVaillant publishes one domestic boiler guarantee document for these islands and it names Ireland explicitly: "The guarantee is valid for installation in domestic dwellings in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands." If the boiler is not registered in time, the term collapses to a base year: registration "must be registered within 30 days of installing the appliance", failing which the guarantee runs only "12 months from date of installation."Unusually for this vertical, the cover is not parts-only: "The guarantee will cover material and labour charges to repair or replace components within the boiler against manufacturing defects from the installation date." Continuing conditions: the boiler "must be serviced annually", and installation and commissioning must be done by a registered gas engineer. CAUTION for Irish readers — the installer clause in this document is drafted around the UK register (Gas Safe). In the Republic of Ireland the equivalent and legally required credential is RGII registration, so an Irish install satisfies this condition via a Registered Gas Installer, not a Gas Safe number. Per-model guarantee lengths are marketed in the UK press but are not stated in this document, so no per-range year figure is asserted here for Ireland.Vaillant
BaxiBaxi's Irish site scopes its headline warranty figure to boilers only: "We are so confident in the reliability and quality of our boilers that we offer warranties of up to 10 years." The page title also covers cylinders and air source heat pumps, but that 10-year figure is not stated for them, so it is not asserted for anything other than boilers here. Per-range year figures are published for the UK ranges but were not found stated on the Irish site, so none is asserted here as an Irish term. The Irish professional warranty page sets three conditions and they are all homeowner-visible: "Warranty must be registered within 30 days of installation or commissioning as applicable"; "Benchmark should be completed and kept in a safe place" (the commissioning logbook the installer fills in); and "Product must have an annual service inline of manufacturer's instructions." Air source heat pumps are governed by a separate document — the Irish page directs the reader to "our Domestic Air Source Heat Pump Warranty terms and conditions" — rather than by the boiler terms, and no year figure for heat pumps is stated on the page.Baxi Ireland
VokeraVokera's Irish warranty portal does not publish per-model year figures on the page itself, so none is asserted here. What it does publish is the downside condition, and it is severe: "Should either of these conditions not be met the period of warranty will extend to only 12 months from the date of installation."The stated continuing condition is explicitly Irish and names the Irish register, not the UK one: "To qualify for the full period of warranty; the boiler must be serviced annually by a Registered Gas Service Engineer (RGI)." Vokera products in the Republic of Ireland are distributed by Viridus Energy, which handles Vokera sales and service for the market.Vokera Ireland
DaikinTHIN ENTRY — flagged deliberately. Daikin's Irish service site states only that it offers "a range of standard warranties covering our air conditioning, applied, refrigeration and heating equipment" without publishing a year figure on that page. No number is asserted here, because the US Daikin figures (10/12-year registered parts terms) are American terms and would be false if presented as Irish. The Irish page does name the extension route: "If you have a Daikin Altherma or Hybrid heating system, you may qualify for a warranty extension through our Stand By Me programme", Daikin's registration platform for tracking registration documents, maintenance records and service history. The length of that extension is not stated on the Irish page and the deeper Stand By Me pages were not reachable. Daikin heat pumps and AC run on fluorinated refrigerant, so in Ireland their installation, servicing and repair are gated by F-Gas certification (EPA-enforced) rather than by any gas or oil register (see facts).Daikin Ireland
