What changes an AWB repair bill
- Brand tier — AWB is the Dutch brand of the Vaillant Group and is found mainly in older ThermoMaster and ThermoElegance boilers. Its control boards and burner control units cost EUR 119.79 to EUR 168.19 including VAT, with roughly EUR 142 as the midpoint, against some EUR 188 for the benchmark brand. The fans are cheap too, at EUR 90.75 to EUR 127.05. An electronics repair on an AWB therefore usually comes out below the benchmark. Do note: AWB and Vaillant share the parts catalogue of the same group. The SYMSI7.0 burner control unit, article number 2000802734, is listed at EUR 156.09 under both brands; the difference between the two brands in this list comes from the models the webshop shows per brand, not from a price difference on that shared part.
- Parts vs labour — the brand and tier shift the parts price; labour tracks your area's wage index, not the brand.
- The specific fault — a sensor, seal, or valve is far cheaper than a compressor, motor, or control board.
- DIY vs professional — Some AWB faults (filters, seals, hoses) are DIY-feasible for confident owners; sealed-system and control-board work is a professional job.
