How do brand and quality tier change the repair cost?

Brand and tier adjust the parts portion only — never labour. In Poland the parts-price spread shows up mainly on control boards and heat exchangers, and gas-boiler main boards are what the factors here are measured on. Beretta is the reference point: the board covering the Ciao, Boiler, Mynute and MySmart ranges costs PLN 1,047.28. Below it sit Termet at PLN 872.73, Immergas at PLN 885.60 and Bosch — sold in Poland for decades under the Junkers badge — at PLN 899.00. Above it sit Ariston at PLN 1,480.77 and Vaillant at PLN 1,486.23, with Viessmann dearest of all. Ariston is the clearest illustration that a brand's market position and its parts prices are two separate things: the boiler sells in the middle of the market while its control board costs what a premium brand's does. For the remaining brands — Buderus, Saunier Duval, De Dietrich, Ferroli, Kospel, Galmet and the whole air-conditioning group — Polish shops quote boards on request rather than publishing a price, so their factor is an estimate taken from their market tier rather than a reading from a price list, and it is labelled that way. The general rule still holds: high-volume lines have cheaper, faster-moving spares, while brands whose parts are OEM-only cost more. Heat pumps and air conditioning put Asian makers — Panasonic, Daikin, LG, Mitsubishi Electric, Samsung, Gree and Haier — alongside the Polish brands Rotenso, Kaisai, Galmet and Kospel and the European Viessmann, Vaillant, Bosch and Immergas. Pick a tier for a class-typical estimate, or a specific Polish brand to override it.

Brands by quality tier & parts factor Estimated

Basic tier parts ×0.85
Termet×0.85Parts ×0.85 (Termet is a Polish manufacturer from Swiebodzice, on the market for decades and chosen mainly on price and on easily available service. Its electronic board with display panel is listed at PLN 872.73, the cheapest boiler control board gathered in this file. That is a real advantage at repair time, not only at purchase. Raw ratio 0.83 against the PLN 1,047.28 anchor, recorded as 0.85.)
Ferroli×0.85Parts ×0.85 (tier median (0.85 = the value tier's only directly evidenced brand, Termet at 0.85). Ferroli is an Italian manufacturer present in Poland mainly in the cheaper gas-boiler band. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Ferroli main board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced level rather than guessed. Because that tier median rests on a single brand, it is a weaker anchor than the mainstream and premium ones in this file.)
Kaisai×0.85Parts ×0.85 (tier median (0.85 = the value tier's only directly evidenced brand, Termet at 0.85). Kaisai is very familiar to Polish installers and is sold as the economical option in air conditioning and heat pumps; Polish market commentary places it in exactly that role alongside Galmet. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Kaisai control board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced level rather than guessed. Because that tier median rests on a single brand, it is a weaker anchor than the mainstream and premium ones in this file.)
Rotenso×0.85Parts ×0.85 (tier median (0.85 = the value tier's only directly evidenced brand, Termet at 0.85). Rotenso is a Polish-developed brand covering wall-mounted air conditioners and heat pumps, frequently seen in installation offers carrying a domestic warranty. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Rotenso control board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced level rather than guessed. Because that tier median rests on a single brand, it is a weaker anchor than the mainstream and premium ones in this file.)
Gree×0.85Parts ×0.85 (tier median (0.85 = the value tier's only directly evidenced brand, Termet at 0.85). Gree is encountered in Poland mainly in lower-priced wall-mounted air conditioning, and also in heat pumps. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Gree control board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced level rather than guessed. Because that tier median rests on a single brand, it is a weaker anchor than the mainstream and premium ones in this file.)
Haier×0.85Parts ×0.85 (tier median (0.85 = the value tier's only directly evidenced brand, Termet at 0.85). Haier is present in Poland in wall-mounted air conditioning and heat pumps, usually in the cheaper part of the range. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Haier control board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced level rather than guessed. Because that tier median rests on a single brand, it is a weaker anchor than the mainstream and premium ones in this file.)

Beretta×1Baseline — no parts adjustment
Bosch (Junkers)×0.85Parts ×0.85 (Bosch, sold in Poland under the Junkers name for many years, is one of the most commonly encountered gas-boiler brands in Polish homes. The main board for the widely fitted Cerapur Midi is listed at PLN 899.00 including VAT, clearly below the reference level. A boiler badged Junkers is the same family of equipment with the same parts. Raw ratio 0.86 against the PLN 1,047.28 anchor, recorded as 0.85.)
Immergas×0.85Parts ×0.85 (Immergas is an Italian gas-boiler manufacturer with a strong position in Poland, particularly in the Eolo and Nike ranges. The electronic board for those boilers is listed at PLN 885.60, below the reference level. For contrast, a pressure sensor for the same brand is PLN 171.46, which shows how far apart a small component and a control board sit. Raw ratio 0.85 against the PLN 1,047.28 anchor.)
Ariston×1.4Parts ×1.4 (Ariston is an Italian brand sold in Poland in the middle of the price range, yet the electronics for its boilers are among the dearer ones. At one parts shop the boards for Thermo Uno, for Chaffoteaux Elexia and Maya, and the double board for Mira and MX2 are listed at PLN 1,309.95, PLN 1,480.77 and PLN 1,849.92. The median of PLN 1,480.77 sits clearly above the reference even though the boiler itself is not positioned as premium -- the clearest illustration in this file that tier and factor are independent axes. Raw ratio 1.41 against the PLN 1,047.28 anchor, recorded as 1.4.)
Buderus×0.9Parts ×0.9 (tier median (0.9 = median of the mainstream-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices: Bosch 0.85, Immergas 0.85, Beretta 1.0 and Ariston 1.4, whose median of 0.925 is recorded conservatively as 0.9). Buderus belongs to the same group as Bosch and is seen in Poland especially in older installations and multi-occupancy buildings, in the Logamax and Logano ranges. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Buderus main board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Saunier Duval×0.9Parts ×0.9 (tier median (0.9 = median of the mainstream-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices: Bosch 0.85, Immergas 0.85, Beretta 1.0 and Ariston 1.4, whose median of 0.925 is recorded conservatively as 0.9). Saunier Duval belongs to the same group as Vaillant and is sold in Poland at a slightly lower position, in the Themaclassic, Thematek and Isotwin ranges. Parts shops carry boards for these boilers but no page with an openly stated price was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Kospel×0.9Parts ×0.9 (tier median (0.9 = median of the mainstream-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices: Bosch 0.85, Immergas 0.85, Beretta 1.0 and Ariston 1.4, whose median of 0.925 is recorded conservatively as 0.9). Kospel is a Polish manufacturer from Koszalin specialising in electric heating -- electric boilers, instantaneous water heaters and, more recently, heat pumps. Electric boilers are chosen where there is no gas connection and pair well with rooftop solar. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Kospel control board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Galmet×0.9Parts ×0.9 (tier median (0.9 = median of the mainstream-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices: Bosch 0.85, Immergas 0.85, Beretta 1.0 and Ariston 1.4, whose median of 0.925 is recorded conservatively as 0.9). Galmet is a Polish manufacturer from Glubczyce, the country's largest maker of water heaters, also offering air-source and ground-source heat pumps and tanks. Polish market commentary places it among the solid, economical options alongside the premium names. No Polish shop page with an openly priced Galmet control board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
LG×0.9Parts ×0.9 (tier median (0.9 = median of the mainstream-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices: Bosch 0.85, Immergas 0.85, Beretta 1.0 and Ariston 1.4, whose median of 0.925 is recorded conservatively as 0.9). LG is widely available in Poland in both wall-mounted air conditioning and its Therma V heat pumps, and is often chosen as a sensible compromise between price and specification. Control-board prices at Polish shops are typically quoted on request, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Samsung×0.9Parts ×0.9 (tier median (0.9 = median of the mainstream-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices: Bosch 0.85, Immergas 0.85, Beretta 1.0 and Ariston 1.4, whose median of 0.925 is recorded conservatively as 0.9). Samsung is present in Poland in wall-mounted air conditioning and in its EHS heat pumps, with a broad distribution network. Control-board prices at Polish shops are typically quoted on request, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Premium tier parts ×1.4
Vaillant×1.4Parts ×1.4 (Vaillant is a German brand clearly positioned above the volume band, often chosen in Poland together with its aroTHERM heat pump. Board prices for VU, VUW, VC, VCW and VSC boilers at one parts shop run PLN 1,349.43, 1,382.78, 1,486.23, 1,490.12 and 1,521.72, giving a median of PLN 1,486.23, well above the reference. The premium shows up at repair time as well as at purchase. Raw ratio 1.42 against the PLN 1,047.28 anchor, recorded as 1.4.)
Viessmann×1.45Parts ×1.45 (Viessmann is seen in Poland as a premium brand and its electronics prices bear that out. The main electronic board for the Vitotronic controller family is listed at PLN 2,309.45 including VAT after discount, against a list price of PLN 2,431.00 -- more than double the reference. Because that is one high-value board serving a whole controller family rather than a plain single-boiler control, the raw ratio of 2.21 against the PLN 1,047.28 anchor is capped well below the observation at 1.45, which is also the level the German sibling file reaches for this brand independently.)
De Dietrich×1.4Parts ×1.4 (tier median (1.4 = median of the premium-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices, Vaillant 1.4 and Viessmann 1.45, whose median of 1.425 is recorded conservatively as 1.4). De Dietrich is a long-established French brand, associated in Poland with solid condensing boilers and heat pumps in the upper price band. No Polish shop page with an openly priced De Dietrich main board was reached, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Daikin×1.4Parts ×1.4 (tier median (1.4 = median of the premium-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices, Vaillant 1.4 and Viessmann 1.45, whose median of 1.425 is recorded conservatively as 1.4). Daikin is one of the most recognisable heat-pump and air-conditioning brands in Poland, with the Altherma range on the heating side. Polish shops stock genuine Daikin parts, but control-board prices are typically quoted on request rather than shown openly, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)
Mitsubishi Electric×1.4Parts ×1.4 (tier median (1.4 = median of the premium-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices, Vaillant 1.4 and Viessmann 1.45, whose median of 1.425 is recorded conservatively as 1.4). Mitsubishi Electric sits in the upper band in Poland in both air conditioning and its Ecodan heat pumps, valued for its technical documentation and service network. Control-board prices at Polish shops are typically quoted on request, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed. Note that Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are two different companies.)
Panasonic×1.4Parts ×1.4 (tier median (1.4 = median of the premium-tier brands with directly observed Polish board prices, Vaillant 1.4 and Viessmann 1.45, whose median of 1.425 is recorded conservatively as 1.4). Panasonic has a strong presence in Poland with its Aquarea heat pumps, including versions that hold their heating output at low outdoor temperatures, and with wall-mounted air conditioning. Control-board prices at Polish shops are typically quoted on request, so the brand is anchored on its tier's evidenced median rather than guessed.)

Ductless Mini-Split not heating: what usually causes it? Estimated

Base: published rates from 3 Polish heating & cooling companies (2026-08) · Poland national base range (GUS, average monthly gross wage by voivodeship, 2024) · Reviewed August 2026 · Estimated

How much is a service-call fee for ductless mini-split repair?

Most Polish companies charge a call-out / diagnostic fee of 50–420 zł, often credited toward the repair if you go ahead. It is separate from the repair totals above. Poland's standard 23% VAT applies to heating and air-conditioning service and to parts. Repair and maintenance work carried out inside a home covered by the social housing programme (flats up to 150 m², houses up to 300 m²) is charged at the reduced 8% rate under Article 41(12)(1) of the VAT Act — and on that route the price of the part being fitted does not change the rate. The condition that the net value of goods must not exceed 50% of the taxable base attaches only to Article 41(12)(2), the residual route for premises outside that programme. On top of that, many small trades use the VAT subjective exemption (Article 113 of the VAT Act, a PLN 240,000 annual turnover limit from 2026) and charge no VAT at all — so treat 23% as a ceiling, not a guaranteed add-on.

Is it worth repairing a ductless mini-split, or should you replace it?

A common rule of thumb: if the repair cost exceeds roughly half the price of a comparable new unit — or the appliance is past ~8 years for a ductless mini-split — replacement is often the better value. The calculator's localized totals give you the number to weigh against a new-unit quote.

Prices are voivodeship (województwo)-level estimates based on average-wage data by voivodeship (GUS, 2024), not fake city precision. Shopping in the U.S.? See the U.S. version (USD). In Canada?
