How we price this in Sweden
Sweden national base ranges come from named Swedish cost-guide, service-company and parts sources for heating, cooling and ventilation — never FX-converted from another currency. We localize them with SCB Lönestrukturstatistik 2024 regional wage relatives (there is no Swedish equivalent of the U.S. Regional Price Parity, and no Sweden-wide occupation-specific wage table for the trade, so the general regional wage relative stands in as the local labour-cost proxy). VAT is 25% Sweden-wide (standard rate) — the reduced repair rate covers an enumerated goods list that does not reach heat pumps, boilers or ventilation units — but many small firms fall under the small-business VAT exemption and charge none, so treat 25% as a ceiling. The ROT deduction is a tax reduction on the labour cost, not a VAT cut: it never covers materials, equipment or the call-out, and prices here are shown before ROT. Work on the refrigerant circuit requires f-gas certified refrigeration staff, fixed electrical work a firm registered with Elsäkerhetsverket, and gas work an authorised gas installer — which is why labour shares are high. Two honest limits for Sweden: Swedish home heating is water-borne, so gas heat exists only as a gas boiler along the natural-gas grid in Skåne, Halland and western Sweden, and oil firing in detached houses is effectively phased out.
